Just recently I got the opportunity to interview VIIX owner Connor about the Spring Break Banger they held at the Old School Bar & Grill in Sarasota, FL where BG was a headlining artist! BG, Carson, Pauly and so many more took the stage to party and perform for fans. It was crazy. Read more to find out what goes into these events and so much more from VIIX!
Me: People love your merchandise. Do you plan on making more or anything new later on, now that your main focus for your brand is entertainment and now that there's more going on with that side of everything?
Connor: We definitely plan on continuing to provide clothing for our fans. However, with the shift into event and talent management, the focus won't be so much on merchandise rather our events and artists. In the future we do plan to feature exclusive clothing designs for artists, events, etc., so be on the lookout for that!
Me: That's so awesome! So, it'll be like fan merchandise for Brandon and other performers? Or more for specific events you're throwing?
Connor: Both!
Me: That's so exciting! What type of process goes into planning events like the Spring Break Banger? Is it hectic or easy because of how close everyone is on your team?
Connor: It's definitely not easy, I'll give you that. I could get into a whole process of what goes into event management, but I can tell you that it requires a lot of patience and persistence. For the Spring Break Banger, just about everything was organized by BK and I, so it became a daily thing building up to a successful night. Having a few of the performers be under our management certainly was helpful in the organizing aspect. They put on a great show and brought a crowd. It wouldn't have been possible without them. Every day we would meet and make sure everything was locked down or scheduled to be. We live by a few mottos, one of the being "No shrugging shoulders". We understand there will be things that go wrong the day of the event, so it's up to us to minimize those chances and have as much as we can locked and loaded and ready for a show.
Me: I love that motto. I think I might start reminding myself of that. Speaking of being under management and planning... I'm not sure if Brandon is under yours and wether he is or isn't, does it get tough scheduling with him sometimes because he's always busy either recording or filming for the show?

Connor: We are fortunate enough to have Brandon under our VIIX management. Luckily, there are "off seasons" for filming. So, we try to plan as much as we can during that time period. He's always ready to work, so with an attitude like that we make things happen. When filming comes around it can be a little tricky to keep a schedule planned. I'd say for the most part though, scheduling with Brandon works out smoothly.
Me: That's fortunate! What about Carson and Pauly and their participation in events you plan? Is it easy with them as well?
Connor: Carson is always ready to go, just like Brandon. We don't really work with Pauly and that's another story. We love Carson's hustle and support behind everything we do, so we try to keep him involved as much as possible. It's easy to work with Carson.
Me: Carson is awesome! Fans love him. He's the sweetest. Do these events turn out better than expected? For example: is it rowdier or crazier? Does it get more filled up than you thought it would?
Connor: We have our ups and downs. Then we have events like SBB and blow the roof off. Over 600 people came out that night and we were expecting 400. It's great to see when hard work pays off. The crowd can definitely get a bit rowdy. We've had kids climbing up on stage, trying to start fights. The normal stuff. That's all part of the experience.
Me: That's crazy! wow! Was Pauly a planned performer? Lots of people were so excited when he jumped on stage!
Connor: He was a planned performance.
Me: Awesome! What are rehearsals like? Are they a little more calm or are they just as amped as the real performance?
Connor: It's definitely not as amped as the real thing. Soundcheck is a lot of fun though. Calm before the storm is a good way to put it.
Me: Beginning of what's to come. Saw there were other performers there too. Are they also under your management? Do you work with them as much as Brandon? Does Brandon plan on collaborating with them?
Connor: A few of the other artists are under VIIX management. Free $$oul and Honcho. We might have some new collabs dropping soon. I guess you'll have to wait and see.
Me: Can't wait to find out! For new performers, how can they get on the stage too? Any advice for some newbies out there?
Connor: Any hip-hop or rap artists in the Southwest Florida area are always welcome to send us their music. We're always up to have locals open at our events. Our advice for new artists is just to stick to who you are as a performer and never stop making music. You never know when you'll make a hit and someone big discovers you.
Me: I'm sure new artists in the are would love to work with you guys! Last question! Any new projects or events or even plans you have coming up that you wanna tell or hint at for the fans?
Connor: We're working on a couple summer concerts and even a fall tour!
Me: Can't wait! So excited for you!
Connor: We are too! Thanks for all the support!
Me: Thank you for taking me on the journey with you! Always down for the ride.
Connor: Always a pleasure doing interviews with you.
