Opening up this site, I wanted to give my followers more to look forward to than just photos and videos. I wanted to do interviews and create amazing content that I couldn't post on Instagram. Lucky enough, the amazing company that Brandon and Carson work for VIIX agreed to do an interview with me and it was amazing.
Me: When did you come up with the idea to start your company?
BK: January 2017 is when the original idea popped into our heads. The idea - Viix - didn't take off until June 2017 when we started putting more effort into it.
Me: How did you come up with such a strong team to run everything together?
BK: Our two founders were actually really good friends prior to working together. So from the jump, there was a trust and a motive to support each other. To become successful together. Then, between other friends who shared the passion - to start a business - and showed initiative to work with us, partners in the industry who wanted and partners in the industry... well we found ourselves a team that was built to our advantage. We love our team and appreciate the consistent hard work they put in for us.
Me: How did you start working with Brandon and Carson?
BK: I -BK- have actually known Carson since elementary school and Brandon since high school. Brandon also hangs out with my friend group of ten or more years. It just all fell into place after we had asked him to model as our first real rep. Carson came shortly after and they were both extremely motivated. We were all really excited to work with each other and support each other's growth. Next thing we know, it's a Viix family.
Me: What's it like working with them - Brandon and Carson -? Have things changed since they were both put on Siesta Key, for your company or for them being apart of it?
BK: Working with those guys is awesome. Like I said before, we are a family so we always have a good time when we link up. Work or not. Things have definitely changed for the better. The obvious change is more exposure and publicity which is a huge plus! I'd also say our motivation has changed as well. We want to pull through for the fans, so success has become our only option going forward.
Me: If you had advice for young people who are thinking about or really want to start their own business, what advice would you give them?
BK: We would say find something your passionate about. Starting a business is inevitably challenging, but when you're able to apply your interests and passion into the business... Well, it gives you all the more reason to strive toward success. Don't be afraid to ask for help. One of the greatest things someone can do when starting a business is network. Build connections and utilize each and every resource around you.
Me: Wow, that is really amazing advice. Where do you get all of the inspiration for not only your designs, but for everything that you do?
Connor: Good question! I'd say that we get our inspiration from the culture we've grown up in and continue to surround ourselves with. Wether it be similar music we listen to, public figures we idolize, or the crowd of people we are apart of. All of the culture amongst our generation has a huge role in inspire our designs and decisions. We always love to here the opinions of those who support us as well as hate on us too. At the end of the day, it's all of you who inspire us to do what we do. Your opinions matter just as much as ours, if not more.
Me: Do you plan on expanding to other states in the future? Like, having more than one team to spread out in other places?
Connor: We definitely plan on expanding to other states and sooner than you may think. We are not necessarily going to have more than one team in multiple locations, rather one team with a network of partners ready to work nation wide.
Me: That's amazing! Can you give us any hints for what you have planned for everyone this year?
Connor: Let's just say we have lots of performances with Brandon coming up outside of the couple he already has coming up this month. Stay tuned for our next largely hosted event! We might be taking it outside of Florida!
Me: Oh wow, sounds exciting! Everyone will love it. Do you plan on working with MTV and the other cast members as well or are you just sticking with Brandon and Carson and sometimes Pauly for performances?
Connor: We certainly would love to work with the rest of the cast. Given Brandon is an artist and we are an entertainment company. He definitely fits best in what we are continuing to do. We encourage the rest of the cast to join in on the fun and support the team at our events as well as model our future clothing drops.
Me: So awesome! That would be so cool if they would all model for you. Especially with Kelsey wanting to further her modeling career.
Connor: Absolutely! Kelsey would be a perfect fit.
Me: Unfortunately this is the last question, but did you ever expect your company to do so well so quickly? How did you grow so insanely quick on social media?
Connor: Quick answer, no! BK and I initially started the company (as a retail clothing line) for the purpose of a college project. Then through the guidance of the university's program, we were able to take our business to market. From that point on everything just excelled so quickly and authentically. We ran with it. As far as social media goes, being apart of a great university we were fortunate enough to have our target audience at our fingertips. Wether it be word of mouth or advertising, Viix seemed to stick with everyone and we recognized it through rapid growth of our Instagram page. We made a brand recognition a priority, the followers we trusted would come.
Thank you so much to Viix who took the time to do this interview with me. You are amazing and such a genuine business. Wish nothing but the best in your work! Everyone check them out! Instagram @viixlife and their website: http://www.viixlife.com (photo below of the cofounders Connor and BK!)
